Singer/Songwriter/Performer "NOVA" born Novelair Peele in Baltimore, Maryland has been a lover of music from an early age. When she was six years old an encyclopedia saleswoman heard her "Big Voice" bellowing from the kitchen and declared: "One day she's going to be a great singer!!"
During her formative years "NOVA" credits Aretha Franklin, Linda Jones, Gladys Knight, Cher, Chaka Khan, Phyllis Hyman, Otis Redding and Michael McDonald as influences on her Vocal Style and Delivery.
“NOVA’s” Passion for Music Continued to Grow as she Pursued her Dream/Aspirations by Participating in Talent Showcases as a Teen and later Performing Regionally at Clubs, Private Affairs, Festivals and Venues such as The Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, The Carter Barron Amphitheatre, Artscape, Bethlehem MusikFest, The Kunte Kinte Heritage Festival, The National Black Family Reunion, AFRAM, The Baltimore International Fests, The Baltimore County African-American Cultural Festivals, Charm City's New Year's Eve Gala, The Baltimore Waterfront Festival, The Fells Point Fun Festival, Baltimore's Annual Book Fests and The "Touch Down Baltimore" Ravens Stadium Celebration among others as The Female Vocalist with Contemporary Rhythm & Soul Band State Of Affairz.
While attending The Community College of Baltimore she discovered self-expression through writing about her many life experiences and eventually combined her essays and poetry with her evolving musical compositional skills to create songs.
In 1993 her Co-Composition "Surrender Your Love" Tied for 1st Place in the R&B/Urban Category of the 10th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest from over 900 entries Worldwide.
In 2003 "NOVA" Received Honorable Mention in The R&B Category in The 11th Annual Billboard World Song Contest for "Surrender Your Love" and An Entry of Merit Award (Top 10%) in The R&B Category of The Unisong International Song Contest for her Topline Co-Write Titled "Hold On To Love" out of more than 4500 contestants from over 50 Countries. Her Passionate yet Melodic Singer/Songwriter Approach is Similar to Maysa, Tawatha Agee, N'Dea Davenport, Angela Winbush, Vesta, Valerie Simpson, Sade' and Mariah Carey in Style, Substance, Delivery and Impact on the listener.
As a Song Stylist her 'Distinguishable Mezzo' Voice is Reminiscent of Gladys Knight, Tina Turner/Joyce Kennedy and Phyllis Hyman with a "dash" of Anita Baker/Lisa Fischer and Edna Wright blended in for "Seasoning" giving her the Versatility to be Equally Comfortable Delivering Ballads or Up-Tempo/Dance Tunes with Energy and Emotion.
As a Live Performer she has Shared the Stage with Roberta Flack, Al Greene, Regina Belle, Phil Perry and Bluesman "Big Daddy" Stallings, in addition to recording with Regional/National Artists Crystal Waters, Deanna Bogart and "Big Daddy" Stallings among others. Her Opening Performance with The O'Jays at The Dell East in Philadelphia was Exciting, Engaging and Energetic Leaving The Crowd "Wanting More!!"
Presently she is continuing to develop as a Songwriter and Performer while preparing for her Independent Debut Release.
"NOVA" calls her Current Compositions "Global Soul" because she draws from Rhythm & Blues, Jazz & Soul, Latin and Afro-Cuban Musical Influences.

Baltimore Bluezman Charles “Big Daddy” Stallings makes his Second Appearance at The 21st Annual Bluebird Blues Festival held at Prince George’s Community College-301 Largo Rd. in Largo, MD. On Saturday Sept. 21, 2013 at 3:45 P.M. featuring selections from his New CD.
“Big Daddy” last performed at this Popular Regional Festival in 2010 and received Tremendous Response and Rave Reviews by local press and media.
His 4th CD “I Like it When They Call Me “Big Daddy” continues to Gain Momentum and Airplay with Recent Reviews in Living Blues and Soulbag Magazines as well as The Baltimore and D.C. Blues Society Newsletters.
His New Project continues his Mission to Preserve and Expand The Blues by combining Soul Blues, R&B and Traditional Blues Progressions with stories that take listeners on a “Bluesical Journey from Tobacco Road to the Fast Lane of Urban/Boogie Boulevard.”

Since 2004 “Big Daddy” Stallings has been Delivering His “GoodTime Bluez With A Twist” to audiences from The Mid-Atlantic to Melbourne Australia via radio and his live performances.
His New CD “I Like It When They Call Me Big Daddy” continues his mission to preserve and expand the Blues by combining Soul Blues, R&B and Traditional Blues Progressions with stories that take listeners on a “Bluesical Journey” from Tobacco Road to the Fast Lane of Urban/Boogie Boulevard. Staying true to his tradition “Big Daddy” calls on local and regional artists as musical guests to support his vision on his recordings dating back to The Debut Release of “One Night Lover” in 2004.
Born in Columbia, S.C but raised on a farm with ten siblings in Hobbsville, N.C. “he lived the Blues everyday” turning to music for his escape. “Big Boss Man” by Jimmy Reed was the first song he learned to play before migrating to Baltimore, MD. after military service with aspirations of becoming a recording artist. His First Independent Release “One Night Lover” Peaked at #1 on XM Radio (Bluesville) and on The Midnite Special Blues Radio Show in Paris, France. The Single “4x4 Woman” also received an Honorable Mention Distinction in The 16th Annual Billboard World Song Contest from over 1500 entries. “Big Daddy’s” 2nd and 3rd CD’s “Blues Evolution” (2007) and “Blues Party” (2009) received Global Attention with Strong Reviews in Living Blues, Blues Review, Blues & Soul (U.K.), IL Blues (Italy) and Soul Bag (France) Magazines while also reaching The Top 20 on The Living Blues and Roots Music Radio Charts respectively due to airplay from XM, European, Latin American and Australian Radio.
